Established Rules
Requirements:
- Every member must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.5 (AP and Honors extra point counts toward GPA)
- All general members must have at least 25 hours completed (1st and 2nd Semester). Seniors must complete their reduced 12.5 hour requirement (1st or 2nd Semester, based on preference). Lastly, half or less of your requirement hours can be outside hours.
- All new members must have at least 10 hours completed. (1st semester) All new members will be considered general members during the 2nd semester of this school year.
- All general members must attend at least 5 meetings before semester 1 ends. NHS will conduct more meetings in the 1st semester. The meeting requirement for new members is 2 meetings. (NO EXCUSES)
- At the end of each semester, every member must re-apply. Members must fill out the designated form for that particular semester (Ask Secretary for help) and must staple a copy of their recent semester's report card.
- All new members must pay a 5 dollar membership fee next semester. Your contribution will help us cover stoles, socials, banquet, and our chapter membership fee, as well as many other benefits.
- All members must attend 2 NHS fundraisers each semester and 1 social each year.
Services:
- If a member (who is also volunteering) drives a minimum of 3 NHS volunteers to an event, the driver will earn an extra hour. (Driver must be the member who is volunteering.)
- You may sign up or omit yourself from an event before the deadline date stated on every post.
- If you are signed up and fail to show up, you will be deducted 1 hour.
- You must arrive at the service on time and stay until the service ends. (In case of an emergency, you must notify the attending officer/leader before leaving.)
- Everyone must sign in and sign out of every service. No record of your presence will result in a deduction an hour.
- No double-dipping. If you are signed up with NHS and another club for the same service, and you attempt to gain hours for both, you will face further ramifications.
- Outside hours from previous semester shall not be included in the current semester's hours
- Deleting comments on Blogspot are not allowed and all comments on events must be made with an email. (Anonymous comments are not allowed.)
- You may sign a maximum of 3 other members for an event.
- Comments on an event in Blogspot before it is posted on Facebook will not be acknowledged. All comments on an event must be made after the event is posted on Facebook.
