Outside Hours Guideline

Hello Old and New NHS members! I know that you are all eager to meet your 20 hour goal, and some have taken the initiative and have done services outside of the club which is wonderful because it shows leadership and character. However, if you want NHS to document your hours, there are procedures that you must follow, and here are some basic rules:
  1. The link to the outside verification sheet is included with every hours posting, so please use it! Do we read them? Yes, we do. We read ALL of them. Don't rush your responses or put down nonsense because you can't think of anything else to write. As a member of NHS, we expect you to answer each question honestly and fully. We don't expect an essay, but we want a clear idea of what services you performed and how you exemplified the four pillars.
  2. Don't answer in bullet points! Write in complete sentences. You are part of one of the most prestigious clubs in the nation; the least you could do is write in complete sentences.
  3. Use the log sheet for repeated services, which is also included in every hours posting. Do not cram dates into the single line provided on an outside verification sheet. The log sheet is there for a reason.
  4. When doing outside hours verification sheets and log sheets, you must include the time you signed in and signed out. Do not just write the total number of hours you did.
From now on, if you fail to follow these rules, your outside hours verification sheet will be returned to you for revision.
