LA MARATHON

Date: Sun. March 9th, 2014

Time: 7:30AM - 2:30PM 

Location: Finish - Area, Santa Monica (Approx. Location is near Wilshire Blvd and Arizona. More details for specific instructions for parking and where the race is settled will be posted later)

Be a part of one of the largest running events in the country! You'll have fun, meet great people, and enjoy the thrill of victory without having to break a sweat.

Assist in finish line set up, medals and heatsheet distribution, and crowd control at the Finish Line Festival in Santa Monica. Under the direction of coordinator, Steve Barnum, volunteers will also do other required jobs.

Latern Festival Volunteer Service

Lantern Festival (Chinese American Museum)

Date: Sat. March 1st, 2014             

Time: Shift 1- 9 am to 1 pm

       Shift 2- 1 pm to 5 pm

       Shift 3- 5 pm to 8 pm

Various positions will be given to volunteers in this annual celebration in Downtown LA. The festival will have a lot of arts and crafts workshops, book signings, and cultural state performances. Lunch, parking, and a t-shirt will be given to volunteers who participate! If you guys have nothing to do on March 1st, come volunteer since you'll be able to check out the Chinese American Museum! Last year, a volunteer spotted Mr. Hendrickson and Ms. Wong at the lantern festival!!!!!

Speeches: This will be your last step in this election, to deliver a well-prepared 3-minute heartwarming speech. Win the hearts of your fellow NHS members by showing your pleasing concern. (You can do anything, make them laugh, make them cry, or even make them explode) There will be 2 meetings (Feb. 28th and March 7th) that'll hold the speeches. Members, be sure to come, because it all revolves back to you. After all the speeches within each day, you will be voting for 1 person of each cabinet position that delivered the speech on that particular day. THE FATE IS IN YOUR HANDS.

*If you (or even friends or family) have any worn-out electronics, it'd be fabulous if you'd donate. (NO REFRIGERATORS, WASHERS, OR DRYERS)

Attire: NO SANDALS. (I wore sandals to an E-waste before, and it was totally not pretty. We want you to be safe, so please wear close-toed shoes.) Also, wear comfortable clothing for the weather.
